Failure

October 15, 2017

Whether or not you knew this I had a blog called Scratch. The following is the final post from the aforementioned blog.

Over and Over

Everything has an exploration date. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking of late. As much as I love writing I think the narrative of the blog has changed. I haven’t achieved the tally of t shirts sold. It was my intention to diarise my attempt to sell five thousand t shirts over a nine month period. In order to do so it would require effort on a scale I could not afford.

Simply put, I’ve been guilty of trying to do too much. To achieve the level of success I want for the Deckhead imprint is going to require concentrated and sustained focus. Consequently, I’ve had to reevaluate how I do that.

The blog becomes one less thing to contend with. I thoroughly enjoyed sharing my thoughts with you and I really appreciate the time you’ve taken to read them.

While it was intention to sell a few tees and make a couple of quid, it was also my intention to inspire as well. Whether or not I achieved that I don’t know. One thing I am sure of however is that I’ll be failing my way to success.

Well I’m still failing my way to success. The agency has taken on a different dynamic since the time of writing that post. Having injured my knee and not DJ’ed for three months it’s become a full time concern.

The blog has now become an affirmation of the Deckhead ethos for those on the roster.

We’re owed nothing, what we believe we should be afforded, should be afforded to others first and gauged accordingly. Our expectations of ourselves should exceed the expectations others hold us too.

Be it a DJ set or fucking life in general.

Just showing up will not cut it…
